1 in 59 children were diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). 1 in 37 boys, and 1 in 151 girls were diagnosed in 2018 by the CDC.
The costs of caring for Americans with ASD was $268 billion in 2015, with estimates to ready $461 billion by 2025.
Both children and adults who are diagnosed with ASD require greater medical care than those without it. Estimated medical costs range from 4 to 6 times more those without autism.
